As we enter the Year of the Monkey let us now look at the fortunes of the Cardinal Animals in 2016.

Of the 12 Chinese Astrological Animals (also known as the Earthly Branches in BaZi or Four Pillars of Destiny) four are known as ‘Cardinal’ animals.

These are the Rat, Rabbit, Horse and Rooster.  Out of the 12 Chinese Astrological Animals the Cardinals are the only ones containing ‘pure’ Qi.  The Qi is not mixed with any other.   The Rat contains Water, the Rabbit contains Wood, the Horse contains Fire and the Rooster contains Metal.

These four are the Peach Blossom animals associated with likeability and attractiveness.  Their purity however can lead to difficult relationships and extreme behaviour patterns.

Rat

The indications are generally favourable for those born in the Year of the Rat.  Its N2 (352.5-7.5) is home to the 7 Metal Star in 2016.  If you are Rat born you will likely find many opportunities during the year including the possibility of promotion and increased responsibility in your career.  This in turn will invite wealth to come your way.  You will attract helpful people to support you in your endeavours however this in turn will bring those who are prepared to gossip behind your back and do their best to bring you down.  You will do well to focus on your goals and ignore the negative people around you to prevent the likelihood of stress taking hold.  You will also have to beware of legal issues raising their head so be careful and stay aware of what is going on in all areas of your life.  Do your best to maintain balance in your life to prevent negative issues taking hold and you will have a positive year ahead.

Rabbit

The Rabbit whose home is E2 (82.5-97.5) is one of the most fortunate animals of 2016.  Whether in your working or personal life opportunities will come to you and you should find an increase in your wealth as a positive side effect .  There will be those ready, willing and able to help you in your social and networking circle so be ready to take full advantage of their assistance when it presents itself.  You could be tempted to indulge yourself as a result of your new found wealth however you would be well advised to control any rash spending.  Sticking to a budget will mean you keep your wealth and not let it slip through your fingers.  You will need to take care of your wellbeing in 2016 especially when you are out and about as there is the chance of accidents occurring possibly resulting in head injury.  With all the positivity around you, you may find yourself feeling stressed or afraid of all the changes occurring however keep your cool and all will be well.  With focus and awareness there is little you cannot achieve in 2016.
