August 2018 Flying Stars (August 7-September 7)

What to Expect

Each month Stars ‘fly’ from sector to sector within a property.  This property can be your home or your office.  Reading these monthly forecasts allows you to benefit from the highs and avoid some of the pitfalls.  Always remember that a month is at most 31 days so a bad month in an annual good sector is not the end of the world.

Yang Metal Monkey (Geng Shen) in Autumn

As you can see the sun is sinking towards the horizon, Summer is past as the Metal Monkey now rises above Yang Fire.  This brings us neatly into the Autumn season and strong Metal will take centre stage right from the start.  The first day of Geng Shen is August 7, a Xin Wei (Yin Metal Goat) day.  The animal of the year given its official title, is Metal Earth Dog so there is no doubting the influence of Metal in August.  Fire and Earth will now begin to lose their power as Metal and Water take a step forward.  Will the strength of Metal bring negative connotations with it?  Will this Yang Metal bring conflict and disharmony, will there be Metal-related incidents occurring?  With Fire weakening can it still bring a sense of control to Metal?

In the 24 seasons of the Chinese Calendar August 7-August 23 is Coming of Autumn and August 24-September 7 brings Heat Ends.  This could be a huge relief to many.

The only sector worthy of special note this month is the Northwest which has 1 Annual/9 Monthly producing a combination of ten.  Always good.

The dominant and timely energies of Period 8 (8, 9 and 1 stars) are located in Southeast (8), Centre (9) and Northwest (1) for the year.

So what can we expect for each of the eight sectors in August 2018?

Do you know how to superimpose a Luo Shu Grid over the floor plans of your property?  Are you able to identify where your important sectors are located?  If not contact us and we will be happy to assist.  The important areas of any living space are the main door, kitchen (stove), bedroom and office/study room.   You can include the balcony in this if you live in a flat or condo.  These are the sectors to focus on when looking at the Monthly Flying Stars.

NORTH-Annual 5/Monthly 4: Resident Qi 1:                        The North was always going to be an area to avoid in 2018.  Thankfully the worst month of the year is over as 5 Annual/5 Monthly of July part company.  As long as you keep things quiet and peaceful in the North, this month could help writers or students focus on their endeavours as the 4 Wood Star moves in.  Just remember not to disrupt the area as 5 Yellow is not about to move out anytime soon.  On the positive side Earth is beginning to weaken thanks to the arrival of the Autumn season.

SOUTH-Annual 4/Monthly 3: Resident Qi 9:                        The Annual 4 Wood Star is joined by 3 Jade Wood Star in this sector.  Wood and Wood tend not to work well together and as 3 Star is generally associated with disputes you could find yourself at odds with those around you if you spend a great deal of time in this area.  You may find yourself a little more stressed than usual due to this combination.  The inherent Fire of the South, weakening though it is, should be sufficient to keep Wood under control so as long as you think before you speak all will be well.

WEST-Annual 2/Monthly 1: Resident Qi 7:                           Things get a little better in the West for August.  The 1 White Star is positive and good for career luck.  However Earth (2 Star) and Water (1 Star) can combine to produce muddy Water which is not good for health.  With Water beginning to regain strength this is something to be aware of.  Take care of your health, eat well and do not over-indulge (that also means avoiding excessive drinking – Water is fine, alcohol not so much).  In general there is no reason to avoid the West.

EAST-Annual 7/Monthly 6: Resident Qi 3:                            Just like an excess of Wood in the South, East sees Metal in the form of 7 Red Star of Violence and 6 White Star join forces for the month.  Together these two Metal Stars can cause difficulties as they tend to work against, rather than for each other.   However 6 White Star can help the head of the household if they are looking to gain support from superiors at work.  Just be on the lookout for colleagues who may try to undermine you.  6 White Metal Star is Big Metal which is more than capable of downing a large tree so do not underestimate its influence.  Metal is now strong so give it the respect it deserves during this Autumn season.

NORTHWEST-Annual 1/Monthly 9: Resident Qi 6:            This is definitely one of the areas to take full advantage of in August with the arrival of the 9 Purple Magnifying Star.  In keeping with its name it can magnify the positive effects of the Annual 1 White Star.  Additionally, together they produce a sum of ten combination – always positive.  If you work for yourself use your network to gain support for your ideas and products and make sure you work in the Northwest to take full advantage of the positive Stars.

NORTHEAST-Annual 3/Monthly 2: Resident Qi 8:             One of the least positive combinations appear together in the Northeast in August.  3 Annual Wood Star and 2 Monthly Earth Star have a conflicting relationship which can cause illness/disagreements/arguments/disputes when activated.  If you have your main door in the Northeast it would help if you could use an alternative entrance this month to help keep this pairing quiet and undisturbed.  The Northeast, whose resident Star is 8 can help placate these two, however be wary and avoid activating the area.

SOUTHEAST-Annual 8/Monthly 7: Resident Qi 4:              The 8 White Wealth Star is joined by 7 Red Star this month.  Earth (8) and Metal (7) have a productive relationship however the Wood of the area can cause conflict.  Younger members of the family are more likely to be influenced by this combination so keep them away from this sector if possible and avoid excessive noise and disruption.  If your main door is here make sure you lock your doors securely when leaving the house.

SOUTHWEST-Annual 6/Monthly 5: Resident Qi 2:            The Annual 6 White Star is unfortunately joined by the 5 Yellow Star in August.  Wherever the 5 Yellow appears is generally a cause for concern.  You can sleep in this area as long as it is kept quiet and undisturbed.  Working or playing here is not such a good idea.  Illness relating to the stomach or head/brain could be the risk if the area is activated by excessive noise and movement.  Avoid if possible or keep it very quiet if you have to spend time here.

CENTRE-Annual 9/Monthly 8: Resident Qi 5:       9 Magnifying Star plus 8 White Star = the centre.  If you have an open plan environment the centre can bring you many causes for celebration this month.

Remember if you leave well alone and do not activate a sector Stars cannot be disturbed and will have no effect on your day to day life.  Always check the external environment to ensure there are no negative structures likely to influence the energies of each sector.
