What You Should Know

Each month Stars fly from palace to palace around the Luo Shu Grid.  Our monthly forecasts allow you to benefit from highs while avoiding some of the pitfalls when Stars combine. You do this by maximising positive sectors and leave the negative ones alone.  A bad location never used cannot affect you.  A good sector never used is a waste – so now might be a good time to start taking advantage of the positives!  A month is at most 31 days so a bad month in an annual good sector is not the end of the world.  Just be aware of what you can expect.  Your animal sign, although more to do with BaZi, will be influenced by Flying Stars.

Yin Earth Snake (Ji Si) in Summer

Summer!!! ‘You cannot be serious!’ as John McEnroe, American Tennis Star used to say.  In the UK we have weather forecasts predicting snow for some parts over May Bank Holiday weekend. Yikes.  Will it or won’t it?  Regardless of the reality of the weather, May sees the first month of Summer in the Chinese Calendar. 

As one of the travelling animals, Yin Snake slithers into view to become the focal point in May.  One immediate observation is that Snake is the clash animal to Pig, our animal of 2019; aka NW3 is Tai Sui (Grand Duke Jupiter) and SE3 is Suo Po (Year-and for May-Month Breaker). 

May 6 a is Yin Water Rabbit (Gui Mao) day. 

Fire becomes the most powerful element in Summer with Earth not far behind.  Wood is now weak, Water is in a trapped state and Metal is easily controlled by Fire.

May 6-May 20 signifies the Coming of Summer and May 21-June 5 is Small Sprouting in the 24 seasons of the Chinese Solar Calendar. 

As you can see from the Chart all Annual and Monthly Flying Stars double up in May.  Double strength then.  Good or bad?  Well…lets look closer.  Interestingly enough all the Earth element numbers are in Earth element sectors, just not their own.  Residing in Earth areas will help negate some of the potentially negative power of the double 2 and double 5, however always err on the side of caution with these two. They are never to be taken for granted.

Double 8 in the centre must be good.  Yes?  Great and prosperous Star times two.  What’s not to be good, or great?  An excess of Earth throws things out (8 Star is Earth element plus the central palace is Earth – that’s an excess of Earth).  So will you still be able to make money? 8 is an Earth Mountain Star.  Mountains are Yin, unmoving and they like to keep things hidden in their depths.  To put it another way, you will make money but slowly, very slowly.  Don’t expect wealth to fall out of the sky into your lap.

For the Goat and Monkey born as well as Gua 2 it will benefit you to keep a fairly low profile this month.  This is not your time to shine.  Energy levels may be low and illness could manifest, especially if you have negative structures in the external Southwest of your property.  Focus on any projects you are involved with and in time they will come to positive conclusions.  Stay on good terms with friends and colleagues to prevent the likelihood of bad mouthing from them as a result of your actions or comments.

• The female head of the house can also feel the effects of the double 5 this month

Oxen, Tigers and Gua 8 should be, shall we say, slow and steady in May.  Be patient and take time to assess all the options available to you before taking action.  Ask for advice from those around you.  There should be little chance of illness manifesting however remember to check outside your property.  What is in the Northeast?  If it is positive, a mountain or higher ground for example, all should be well.  Positive structures may also result in you being the beneficiary of some unexpected income.

• Young children, especially male children, may sense the energies of the double 2 in May

On to the remaining sectors of the Luo Shu Grid…

East has a 6/6 combination and is very strong Metal in a Wood area.  Fortunately Metal is easily controlled by Fire during the summer months so this should not present any problems.  Rabbit born and Gua 3 need to maintain their focus in order to succeed this month.  To avoid direction confrontation with your opposite number in the workplace during May it will benefit you to be understated. Be careful how you interact with them and do not attempt to get the upper hand in any negotiations.  Double 6 is akin to two people in positions of power locking horns, battling each other for supremacy and potentially neither win.  Better to compromise.

• The eldest son of the family will be aware of the 6/6 combination and should avoid confrontation

Southeast with its 7/7 Metal combination is great for anyone who has to get their message across.  This is a good location for Dragon and Snake born as well as Gua 4 who make their living from sales, marketing or public speaking.  Are there any politicians among you?  Now could be your time to shine.  You are going to have to work for it though.  Nothing will fall in your lap so be good to those around you to garner their support and help towards your success. 

• Does the eldest daughter of the house work in any of these fields?  She could benefit from this combination

South sees a double 3 in May.  This Wood element combination could be an exciting one for the Horse born and Gua 9.  Positive results may come your way however avoid having any preconceptions about how they may arrive.  Wood is now weak but Wood feeds Fire so this sector could result in people becoming angry quickly.  3/3 is like the Star of Disagreements doubled with potential violent results.  Check the external of your property.  Positive or negative? 

• Daughters of the family could benefit from the positive so long as they stay aware – and calm – under any circumstance

West has one of the best combination in May with 1/1 making an appearance.  Rooster born and Gua 7 could benefit from a multitude of positives such as good health and relationships.  The only caveat is that they take due care when looking at short-term endeavours.  They will need to undertake due diligence before embarking on any projects.  Good as this combination is, it is essential to think things through carefully before taking any action.

• Younger daughters could benefit from this combination

Northwest has a potentially positive combination of 9/9 in May.  ‘Potentially’ because double 9 is also double Fire in a Metal location, more importantly the location of Qian; head of a household, company or a business organisation as well as Gua 6.  Dogs and Pigs will also feel the effect of this pair.  Fire in summer is at its most powerful so this could have consequences for those in positions of power.  This will be the month to keep your cards close to your chest.  Know how far you can go and make very sure you do not go beyond it.

• You may find the head of the home or an organisation could see their ideas come to fruition

Rat born and Gua 1 will find they have an excess of information available for them this month.  The 4/4 indicates learning and scholarly pursuits.  The advantage of having this pair in the North is that information without action is of little value.  As North is the location of water, water flows.  Use the information and take action, allow it to flow like the water.  The worst thing you can do is to keep secrets.

• Young males particularly can benefit from this combination in May.  They may find love is in the air
