October 2019 Flying Stars (October 8-November 7)

If you are now beginning to feel a little less active than usual its no surprise.  As we welcome a new month with Jia Xu (Yang Wood Dog) taking centre stage we move into the final month of autumn.  Like the element of earth, energies are changing bringing with them a time of rest and reflection.

The harvest is gathered and earth prepares itself for a well-earned period of rest.  For us, after all the excitement of the summer season with holidays and sunshine, growth and positivity, it’s now time to slow down and take some ‘me’ time.  Focus on your internal self.

Yang Wood Dog (Jia Xu) is Metal Earth

Together with Ox, Dragon and Goat the Dog represents stability and support.  As earth animals they represent what the earth below our feet affords us when it is strong and dry.  However the element of the month, wood,  could bring a sense of instability in October.  Being the controling element to earth things may not be as secure as they could be.

These earth animals can be loners, they are not naturally open or responsive towards other people and prefer to keep themselves to themselves.

Together with Tiger and Horse, Dog is part of the fire frame.  Being a storage (or graveyard) animal it ‘stores’ fire within it.

We do have to take into account that wood, fire and earth are currently weak or ineffective.  Metal is still the strongest element for October with water ready to take hold of the baton in November.

Dragon is the clash animal to Dog.  These are both yang earth animals so if you have dragon in your birth chart it would be better not to rock the boat.

Dog and Rabbit share a mutually beneficial bond and will look after one another.  They are not going to blaze any trails together but they do share a good solid relationship.

The first day of October is October 8 which is a Yang Earth Tiger (Wu Yin) day.  This is an auspicious day.

October 8-October 23 is known as Cold Dew season in the 24 seasons of the Chinese Solar Calendar.  October 24-November 6 is Frost.  Remember there are 24 seasons in the Chinese Solar Calendar each of which lasts around 15 days.

Annual Star is large number / Monthly Star is small number

There is a sum of ten in the south this month.  Annual wood 3 combines with monthly metal 7 in a fire location.  There are early heaven combinations in east (6/1 = water), southeast (7/2 = fire), centre (8/3 = wood) and northwest (9/4 = metal).

Beginning in the northwest where our animal of the month and animal of the year reside in October.  A 9/4 he-tu combination creating metal is a good pairing in this metal location.  Good for finances and networking.  If you are seeking a partner or partners for joint ventures this will be a good month to conduct your search.   There are plenty of people around you offering support and help so take full advantage of the positive energy.

  • With the 4 star in Northwest this could be a positive area for students to work.  Remember not to face the Grand Duke to avoid his wrath.  However sitting with your back to him (NW3) will garner his support.

North has star 1 as its home star.  Combine this with the visiting 4 star makes the area a great location for children.  It would be a good location for your child’s bedroom although with the addition of the 8 white star their health may not be optimum. Preferably use the area as a study room rather than sleep.  8 star is still at its peak so money opportunities are never far away.  Remember though as good as the 8 star is, it doesn’t work at lightning pace.

  • Gua 1 or Rat born can see opportunities ripe for the taking however you will have to do your bit to make them come to fruition.  If you see something you feel is worth pursuing, take the plunge and take action.  Waiting for something to come to you will have you waiting a long time.

Northeast has 2 annual/6 monthly.  Earth and heaven.  Having the 2 earth star in an earth sector strengthens the illness star however 6 metal, currently at its optimum, will go some way to offsetting the negative effects of the 2 star.  If you are working in the northeast you might find that progress is stagnating.  This is not the right time to push too many buttons. Rather keep things on an even keel and wait for better opportunities.

  • With this combination of heaven and earth those of you who are spiritually minded will find the energies conducive to positive outcomes.  This could be a good location for meditation practice in October.

The east has a 6 annual/1 monthly he-tu combination producing water.  Water will feed the wood of the east and help control the annual metal star.  This is an active pairing that has both the intelligence (1 star) and perseverance (6 star) to get things done whether in business or physical fields.  Work, exercise or train in this area to take advantage of the positive energies at play.

  • Gua 3 or Rabbit born can take advantage of this he-tu combination.  Whether personal or professional you can achieve your desires.

Another he-tu combination of 2 annual/7 monthly produces fire in the wood area of southeast in October.  Fire creates passion and positivity, 7 metal gives the individual the ability to talk a good talk, great for those of you in sales or marketing. The negative aspect of 2 earth is that of illness however in a wood location this should not be a major issue (wood controls earth in the controlling cycle of the five elements).  To further offset the chances of illness particularly if your bedroom is in this area you could place some metal to suppress the earth star still further.

  • Gua 4, Dragons or Snakes could see a degree of success as a result of this he-tu pairing.  However it will be necessary to hold your tongue to avoid the negative side of 7 red star manifesting.

A sum of ten resides in the south for October.  Individually the 3 annual and 7 monthly are generally negative however together they can bring money and networking luck.  Projects can reach successful conclusions.  The external environment to the south of your property could well determine whether your fortune is positive or negative.  If there are negative elements outside take care to ensure your home is properly protected from the risk of robbery.

  • Gua 9 or Horse born should err on the side of caution and be wary of how they interact with others during the month to avoid disputes or disagreements manifesting.

Southwest is generally negative this year with the annual 5 earth star in residence.  October has the 9 magnifying fire star moving in.  Fire feeds earth in the productive cycle of the five elements so it is going to be important not to activate this area for the month.  It would be better if you could avoid the location as much as possible as ill health is a possibility.

  • Gua 2 and Goat or Monkey born should be able to progress through the month with little trouble.  However you may find others jealous of any success you have so it would benefit you to keep a low profile and work under the radar.

West has a 1/5 combination in October.  Being a metal location will go some way to suppressing the worst the 5 yellow has to offer.  The 1 water star however will weaken the metal to a degree.  As always it is better to err on the side of caution where the 5 yellow is concerned so it would be advantageous to avoid or limit your time in the west.  To help alleviate any negative energy you can place additional metal objects here.

  • Gua 7 or Roosters may find their relationships a little more difficult this month so if you can stay away from the area as much as possible it would be helpful this month.

Remember not everyone can use all the elements.  Your BaZi chart will highlight which you can take advantage of and those you may not have an affinity with.

Do you know your Chinese animal sign?  If not contact us and we will send you the information including the influence the Dog will have if it appears in your chart.  Remember you have four pillars in your Chart (year, month, day, hour) and each one represents a different aspect of your life.

Do you know how to superimpose a Luo Shu Grid over the floor plans of your property?  Can you identify where your important sectors are located?  If not contact us and we will be happy to assist.  The important areas of any living space are the main door, kitchen (stove), bedroom and office/study room.   You can include the balcony in this if you live in a flat or condo.  These are the sectors to focus on when looking at the Monthly Flying Stars.
