December 2019 Flying Stars (December 7-January 5)
As the month of December arrives it’s time to get a taste of what the Year of the Rat 2020 has in store for us. The difference is that the Rat in December brings Yang Fire (warmth in the depths of midwinter) whereas 2020 will see Yang Metal (cold, hard and unyielding). And yes, this will have a significant effect! More on that soon.
December will bring the Winter Solstice (the shortest day) to us and then yay, we can look forward to the days starting to get longer again. Longer not necessarily warmer – yet!
Yang Fire Rat (Bing Zi) in Winter
December is midwinter. The coldest, darkest and most Yin time of the year. We have fire above water in the year pillar.
Our Rat is one of the cardinal animals of the Chinese zodiac. It, together with Rabbit, Horse and Rooster are pure bred. They have only one element to their name, in this case, Water.
Do you have any of these animals appearing in your BaZi chart?
Where they reside (Year, Month, Day, Hour) will influence the effect they have on your fortunes.
Yang Fire feeds Yin Earth of the Year, but it is a slow process.
Water is prosperous and Wood is becoming stronger with each day that passes. Metal is weak, with Fire and Earth at their lowest ebb.
Rat is the clash animal to Horse (Water clashing Fire). Let’s think about this though. If you remember it is only Yin Water than can influence Yang Fire (aka the Sun) so this clash is negated somewhat. Yin Water is the mist and fog, clouds and rain able to hide the sun. Yang Water is the oceans, rivers and lakes. These can reflect the sun but not influence it directly.
How will the Horse fair against the strength of the Rat? They are equally strong willed with the Horse happy to sit back and enjoy life and Rat keen to be seen. They can however maintain a very good friendship.
Looking at the Luo Shu Grid for December it seems North will have a better time of it than the South. See the monthly chart below.
Rat has a friendly relationship with the Ox, its partner sitting next to it, waiting in the wings for its turn to shine in January.
December 7 is the first day of the month which is a Yang Earth Tiger (Wu Yin) day. This is an auspicious day for any endeavour other than breaking ground. Everything else, including commencing large projects, will begin on an extremeley positive note.
December 7-December 21 is Greater Snow with December 22-January 5 embracing the Winter Solstice.
There is a Sum of Ten combination in the home of the Rat, North, in December. The Central Palace has an auspicious 8 White/1White combination and East has 6 White/8 White combination.
Sum of Ten in the North is a combination of intelligence and an attractive personality. However 4 is Yin Wood which can lead to a haphazard attitude when it comes to completing projects or tasks. To take full advantage of this positive combo you will have to focus and take a ‘one step at a time’ steady approach in your working life.
The East sector of a property has the highly auspicious 6 Annual/8 Monthly stars together. 6 White represents the head…of a household, Company or someone with significant responsibility within their organisation. 8 White represents finances and wealth possibilities. It is too easy to get caught up with work in this instance however so it is vital to ensure you don’t neglect those nearest to you. Work, rest and play!
The Central Palace has two positive White stars however they do represent clashing elements. Earth controls Water. This is still a good combination for money making however it may come at a price, and that is personal happiness or satisfaction. This combination can only be used if you have an open plan layout in your home or workplace.
On the face of it 7 Red star and 9 Purple star in the Southeast in December is not a good match. However 7 represents the ability to communicate and 9 represents popularity and attraction. Anyone who works in industries involved in sales or marketing will benefit from working in the Southeast this month. This match is also indicative of personal relationships and attraction, so while you may see your popularity on the up it will be your responsibility to stay away from temptation if you are already in a relationship.
1 Annual/3 Monthly is a pair that can bring aggression to residents of the West. While 1 White is the star of wisdom and intelligence, 3 Jade Wood star adds a touch of trouble and obstacles. Good for the sports people among you however it will only work for everyone else if you stay focused on your end result. Be persistent and do not give up.
The Northwest has 9 Annual/2 Monthly in December. The negative side of this pair is the chance of eye issues occurring however it can also bring celebration times and lots of fun. To take full advantage it will be necessary to focus, create a ‘to do’ list – and stick to it! Success can be achieved but only with hard work.
Looking at the Northeast the 2 Annual/4 Monthly create a countering combination. This could see women in the household in dispute. This is a month to think before you speak to avoid upsetting those closest to you. On the positive side this combo can contribute to receiving funds from share dividends, royalties or the like. Basically something that is outside, and in addition to, your usual income.
So we are left with 3 Annual/5 Monthly in the South and 5 Annual/7 Monthly in the Southwest. Which of these two combination are the most unappealing to you?
The 3/5 have a countering relationship. In this case it can lead to over-spending, gambling and issues with other people. That’s the negative. On the positive side, with concentration and focus, you can achieve your goals as long as you rely only on your own initiative rather than looking to other people for help.
5 Annual/7 Monthly is an exhaustive relationship between Earth and Metal which can see individuals eating unhealthy food and suffering illness as a result. The 7 star could also indicate mouth or throat issues. On the positive side, if you are willing and able to think before you speak, use tact rather than an aggressive attitude, you can achieve your goals.
The choice is yours. You get to choose whether to spend time in the South or the Southwest.
