What to Expect
Each month Stars ‘fly’ from sector to sector within a property. Knowledge is power so use these monthly forecasts to benefit from the highs and avoid some of the pitfalls.
Yang Water Tiger (Ren Yin) in Spring
It may be difficult to believe when you look outside however spring is about to appear. February 3, the first day of the Yin Fire Rooster Year, also welcomes springtime in the Northern hemisphere. This is the time of year when Metal loses its power, Water becomes weak, Wood takes centre stage in terms of strength and Fire begins to gain power. The first month of spring begins with the Tiger (Yin) a Wood element animal whose home is in NE3 (37.5-52.5). Life will slowly begin to reappear in the natural world with trees, plants and flowers beginning to show buds as they awaken from their winter slumber.
The Metal Ox (Xin Chou) of January makes way for the Water Tiger (Ren Yin) one of the Growth or Travelling Stars which represents movement and activity. It also means the start of a new season, in this case, spring. This month will also see Tiger escape the worst its clash animal, the Monkey and effects of the Grand Duke Jupiter brought to bear. The Grand Duke will now change its location and move to the home of Rooster in the West. The Tiger can therefore breathe a sigh of relief. The Yang Water Tiger month runs from February 3-March 5. In the 24 Seasons of the Solar Calendar February 3-February 18 is known as Coming of Spring. February 19-March 5 is Rain Water.

So how are the energies likely to behave in each sector during February?
A quick précis indicates the dominant energies of Period 8 (8, 9 and 1 stars) are located in East (8), Southeast (9) and Centre (1) for the year. The most auspicious sectors in February are East (8 Annual/6 Monthly) and North (6 Annual/4 Monthly) which also creates the sum of ten. This will help make the North particularly effective for career related matters. For business people or those of you looking to climb the corporate ladder in 2017 it will be beneficial to take advantage of this positive combination. The Central Palace (1 Annual/8 Monthly) is another good sector to make use of this month. The remaining sectors will range from average to ‘avoid at all costs’.
NORTH-Annual 6/Monthly 4: Resident Qi 1: February brings together an auspicious pairing of 6 White Star and 4 Green Star. If the main door or your office is in the North this is a great month to take advantage of the positive energies. Heaven luck in the form of 6 White Star could bring windfall luck and 4 Green Star brings both romantic intervention as well as luck for those in the creative field, especially writers and students. The Metal energy of 6 White Star creates Water element of the North which in turn feeds Wood element of the 4 Star so in this first month of the year the North has an harmonious combination. If you are spending time here be aware that illness related to the stomach may occur so take care of what you eat and drink throughout the month.
SOUTH-Annual 5/Monthly 3: Resident Qi 9: The South sees its share of challenges in 2017 with the arrival of 5 Yellow Star and in February things will be even worse with 3 Jade Star paying a visit. 5 Yellow indicates five different types of misfortune if the area is activated and 3 Jade Star is known as the Star of Disagreements. This could make residents of the South (residing in the South during 2017 is not recommended) particularly vulnerable to disputes as well as everything the 5 Yellow brings with it. If you can avoid this area it is certainly the best solution. If not it is vital that the sector is not activated; to do so would wreak havoc on your peace of mind and bring a multitude of unfortunate events to bear.
WEST-Annual 3/Monthly 1: Resident Qi 7: The annual 3 Jade Star of Disagreements is joined in February by 1 White Star making the area good in February as long as you think before you speak, do not get involved in gossip and take care to scrutinise any paperwork carefully before putting pen to paper. 3 Star can bring its share of difficulties if you are not aware so knowledge is power for residents of the West. 1 White Star can bring career opportunities and if this is important to you make use of this sector and face your Sheng Qi or Yan Nian direction. Remember that W2 (262.6-277.5) should not be activated this year so as not to aggravate the Grand Duke Jupiter.
EAST-Annual 8/Monthly 6: Resident Qi 3: The East will be auspicious in 2017 and in February the arrival of 6 White Star makes it a great start to the year. 8 Star relates to Current Prosperity and 6 White Star relates to Heaven Luck and unexpected income opportunities. Having your main door or your office here will help maximise the benefits these two auspicious White Stars bring. E2 (82.6-97.5) is in conflict with the Grand Duke in 2017 so avoid activating this sector. 3 Killings are also present in the East (Robbery Sha E1, Calamity Sha E2 and Annual Sha E3) so pay particular attention to all your dealings to avoid falling foul of these negative energies.
NORTHWEST-Annual 2/Monthly 9: Resident Qi 6: The Annual 2 Black Star of Illness is joined by the 9 Purple Magnifying Star for February. Stomach related illness is a feature of this year and pregnant women should avoid the Northwest. This combination will also bring about health issues regarding the lungs. Fire (9) creates Earth (2) and as Fire is now gaining in strength it makes for an area to avoid if your health is of concern to you.
NORTHEAST-Annual 4/Monthly 2: Resident Qi 8: After a bad year in 2016 the Northeast will welcome 4 Green Star in 2017. This will generally bring a much better year for residents of the Northeast. The start of the year however sees 2 Black Star fly in with the possibility of stomach-related illness. It will therefore be important to take care of your health and watch your diet in February. Students and academics can enjoy positive energy in this area during the month so spend time here and face one of your good directions when studying or working to make use of 4 Green Star.
SOUTHEAST-Annual 9/Monthly 7: Resident Qi 4: The 9 Purple Star of Future Prosperity will reside in the Southeast during 2017. This star magnifies whatever it comes into contact with, both good and bad, and unfortunately in February 7 Red Star of Violence will move in. This will bring with it the likelihood of robbery, burglary or violence if the area is activated. On the positive side 7 Star is the Metal element and Metal is ineffective in springtime. However Fire (9) is gaining in strength so err on the side of caution and take care in the Southeast this month, especially if you have your main door here. Of more concern might be the risk of a fire as the Wood element of SE feeds Fire and both are strong in February. Do not leave open flames in the area.
SOUTHWEST-Annual 7/Monthly 5: Resident Qi 2: Oh what a difference a month makes. From the main wealth sector of 2016 the Southwest now takes on a totally new look with the arrival of the annual 7 Red Star of Violence and the monthly 5 Yellow Star. The best solution to this is to avoid the area if at all possible. The 5 Yellow particularly is an Earth element star in an Earth area and could well bring with it illness to the stomach or injury to the mouth. If activated it could also bring arguments and disagreements to the fore because of the 7 Star.
CENTRE-Annual 1/Monthly 8: Resident Qi 5: In 2017 the centre of a property sees the 1 White Star take up residence. This is the Star of Distant Prosperity. In February it is joined by 8 White Star of Current Prosperity making the centre of any space auspicious. If you have an open plan layout the energy will spread throughout the area.
