So what is this about you ask? 

Parent String Combination

I wasn’t planning an additional post however while writing February updates I realised something interesting.  For this month only there is a combination known as Parent String (Three Combinations) formation. 

What is it? 

When all the Earth element Stars 2, 5 and 8 appear in each of the Earth palaces, Southwest, Centre and Northeast, the remaining Stars automatically  create 1, 4, 7 in three sectors and 3, 6, 9 in the remaining three sectors. 

From the chart above you can see that 1, 4, 7 appear in North, West and Southeast.  3, 6, 9 appear in Northwest, East and South. 

Without going into too much detail these combinations has Qi (Star) from each of the three 60-year cycles.  This is known as Heaven, Man and Earth Qi.  It can also be identified as head (Heaven), body (Man) and legs (Earth).

So how can you use them?  1, 4, 7 are a great combination if you want to sell your property.  Activate the areas by placing water.  North and Southeast are both appropriate for water, West is not.  However you can spend time in this sector which will activate it.  Use the West to make arrangements to market your property.  Warning…be careful in the West as the 3 Killings are in residence for the year.

This combination is only present in February so if you do want to market your property now is the right time for you.

2, 5, 8 together can help alleviate some of the negative attributes of a 5, 2 combination.  However it is always better to err on the side of caution where 5 Yellow particularly is concerned. 

3, 6, 9 is said to represent wealth, good fortune, health and harmony.

For those who like numbers here’s a bit of fun. 

If you add 1,4 and 7 and bring it down to a single number you have 3.  1+4+7=12 : 1+2=3.  If you add 2, 5 and 8 you have 6.  If you add 3, 6 and 9 you have 9.  I love numbers!

Period 8

In addition to the Parent String formation there is one more piece of the puzzle. 

We are still in Period 8 (until 2023) which places 8 in the central grid of the Luo Shu.  In 2019 the Annual 8 is in the central grid also.  This means the Period Star and Annual Star in each of the nine grids are the same.  This will help strengthen these numbers.  Great if they are good for you, not so if they are negative for you.
